Hi I am a self employed sales agent commission only for a company which has just done a prepack administration and says I will not get my February commission due on the 20th March. What can I do?

Hello RobinB and welcome

If a pre pack has been carried out, then the assets of the old company have been bought by a new one. The new business may well start to trade. However you are a creditor of the old business.

If the old business is insolvent and is to be liquidated, then your debt will be treated in the same way as any other creditor. You may be paid a percentage of what you are owed but it is likely to be minimal.

You should contact the administrator of the old business to make sure you are registered as a creditor. However, as a contractor and therefore supplier to the old business, unfortunately there is very little you can do.
