School in Administration

Postby jennifer » Tue Jun 29, 2010 1:54 pm

The residential school my daughter goes to has gone into administration and have asked fees for the June period are paid again. I have been informed this is to ensure that when the company is taken out administration as a going concern that they are to pay the teachers and other employees as they have not been paid for a month or so.

Is this feasible request?

Hello and thank you for your question.

Not knowing any of the circumstances it is not easy to give much advice here

My gut reaction would be not to give any further money to an organisation which has gone into administration without some pretty good guarantees from the administrator that it will be money well spent.

It may be better to wait until the company is out of administration and then re-pay fees. If you pay them before this, there is a risk that the organisation will not come out of administration and you will
loose your money.
