Cost of closing my company

Postby johnb1 » Wed May 12, 2010 11:28 am

In the face of continuing poor sales I have decide I need to close down my business and find myself a job before I cannot pay all the company bills.

A few questions about it !

Do you have a simple guide on what to do?
can I just stop trading and walk away ?
or do I need to do some official process - and how much can I expect to pay for this if I have to ?

any help appreciated

John

Hello John

Is your business a limited company? If so and you want to close it, you will should use a process called creditors voluntary liquidation. Basically, you appoint an insolvency practitioner (IP) who will call a creditors meeting. The IP will normally be appointed as the liquidator and close the company. This process will cost c£5000.

There is more information about this process on the main Company-Debt site: http://www.company-debt.co.uk/voluntary ... howto.html
